Cook Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School teachers Nan Bolin (art), Courtney Hall (dance) and Tina Morgan (music) were presenters for a session at the Whole Schools Initiative’s Winter Institute February 3, 2017. Their session, entitled “Performing Place Values,” was designed to show classroom teachers how to use music, movement, and visual arts strategies when teaching place value.
The Whole Schools Initiative is a statewide arts education program which uses the arts as a vehicle for promoting high-quality instruction and learning for students in all subject areas. WSI is funded through the Mississippi Arts Commission.
The trio will present “ARTs of Speech” at the WSI Summer Institute in June.
